Calcium carbonate processing technology

Calcium carbonate is an inorganic compound that is the main component of limestone rock (limestone for short) and calcite. Calcium carbonate is divided into two categories: heavy calcium carbonate and light calcium carbonate. First, heavy calcium carbonate processing and production technology At present, there are two main processes for industrial production of heavy calcium carbonate, one is dry process; One is a wet method, dry production of products, can be widely used in rubber, plastics, coatings and other industries. The wet process is used in the paper industry, and the general product is sold in pulp form to paper mills. 1. Dry production process: Raw Materials → Gangue removal → Jaw Crusher → Impact hammer Crusher → Raymond Mill/ultrafine vertical mill → Grading system → Packaging → Product. First, the gangue is removed by hand by selecting calcite, limestone, chalk, seashells, etc., which are transported from the quarry. Then the limestone is coarse crushed by the crusher, and then the fine calcite powder is crushed by Raymond (pendulum) grinding, and finally the grinding powder is graded by the classifier, and the powder that meets the particle size requirements is packed into the storage as a product, otherwise it is returned to the grinding machine to grind again.

2, wet production process:

Raw ore → broken jaw → Raymond mill → wet mixing mill or stripping machine (intermittent, multi-stage or cycle)→ Wet classifier 1 → screening → drying → activation → Packaging → Product.

First, the suspension made of dry fine powder is further crushed in the mill, and after dehydration and drying, super-fine heavy calcium carbonate is prepared. The main processes of wet grinding heavy calcium carbonate are:

(1) Raw ore → broken jaw → Raymond mill → wet stirring mill or peeling machine (intermittent, multi-stage or cycle)→ wet classifier → screening → drying → activation → bagging (coating grade heavy calcium). The wet superfine classification is added to the process flow, which can separate qualified products in time and improve the efficiency. Wet superfine classification equipment mainly includes small diameter cyclone, horizontal spiral classifier and dish classifier, the concentration of pulp after classification is relatively thin, sometimes need to add sedimentation tank. The economic index of the process is good, but the classification is difficult to operate, and there is no very effective wet superfine classification equipment.

(2) Raw ore → jaw breakage - Raymond mill → wet stirring mill - sifting → drying -→ activation -→ bagging (packing grade heavy calcium).

(3) Raw ore → jaw break → Raymond mill → wet stirring mill or peeling machine (intermittent, multi-stage or cycle)→ screening (paper coating grade heavy calcium slurry).

Second, light calcium carbonate processing and production technology Preparation process of light calcium carbonate: limestone raw material is broken into a certain size, lime kiln forging and firing into lime (Ca0) and flue gas (kiln gas containing carbon dioxide), the lime is put into a continuous digester and water is added for digestion to obtain Ca (OH)2 emulsion. After coarse filtration and refining, the Ca (OH) 2 fine emulsion is sent to carbonization reactor/carbonization tower and into the refined kiln gas containing carbon dioxide for carbonization synthesis reaction. At the same time, the appropriate amount of additives are added to react under certain technological conditions to produce ultra-fine calcium carbonate. Superfine calcium carbonate slurry was fed into the coating reactor and quantitative coating agent was added to react under certain technological conditions to obtain superfine active calcium carbonate products with surface modification. The ultra-fine active calcium carbonate slurry is filtered and dehydrated, and then sent to the dryer for further dewatering to reach the dry powder required for water content, and then crushed for finished product packaging.
